This symposium is designed to develop new areas of research, create policy agendas, and spark new connections among faculty from across JHU who are working in the food systems space -- from diets and malnutrition to agriculture and climate change. Food systems encompass all the activities and actors from food production to food consumption and beyond.
"Economics, politics, the environment, health and society all shape, and are shaped by, the food system. They are at the root of many of the problems that food policy needs to solve – and all are affected as a result of the ripple effects when any food policy solution is implemented. " -- Kelly Parsons, Corinna Hawkes and Rebecca Wells, City, University of London
Faculty should feel free to forward this invitation to postdoctoral or doctoral students who may be interested in attending.
The event will be moderated by Dr. Jessica Fanzo, Bloomberg Distinguished Associate Professor of Global Food & Agricultural Policy and Ethics. Other speakers TBA.
